Elaine12 days agoVery nice cottage in a lovely setting. A great area to stay in for lovely views, right beside the sea, with a couple of options for eating nearby. Especially Mara (when in season, as closes October - April). And the Corrie hotel nearby great to eat in too.The house has a lovely living space, great to have a log fire, is even more spacious than the pictures would illustrate. With the Corrie Hotel and Mara Fish Bar nearby, and buses to Brodick and Lochranza, we were well situated for a car free stay. We saw seals on the way to Sannox and dolphins in the bay. Lovely location and cute cottage. ☺It was spacious downstairs and I enjoyed having the small bit of grass across from the property that I was able to use to sunbathe on nice days. The bathroom was very modern and fresh ☹Most of the windows were a bit sticky which was difficult during the heat as the property warmed up as they do in Scotland. On entering the property it smelled a bit musty as if it hadn't been cleaned/ inhabited for a while. Most of the dishes in the kitchen were dirty when removing them from the cupboards and the microwave was all fingerprints. Alexandra190 days agoCorrie was a great base for our short stay on Arran - easy access to the North, central and Southern parts of the island. Glen Sannox, very close by, is stunning, as are the views from the cottage itself, and there's direct access to Goat Fell from the village.Alasdair's cottage had everything we needed, and communication from the host was very helpful and proactive.Posted on Airbnb

Christopher212 days agoWe had a fantastic stay at Eldon Cottage. The location is brilliant - right on the water, and it’s a perfect base for exploring Arran. The cottage itself is really cosy, and finished to a high standard.Alasdair was a great host with excellent communication before the stay, and upon checkout. He was really helpful with advice about the ferry crossing also, which we appreciated.This was our first time visiting Arran as a family, and it couldn’t have been a better place to stay. Jean283 days agoMyself & my family booked the cottage to do something different at Hogmanay & the New Year. The trip was absolutely brilliant. The cottage was very welcoming & was so relaxing. Looking over the water was a bonus & you could see the sun rising early in the morning. The cottage is a few minutes walk from the Corrie hotel if you would rather dine out than cook. We did both. This was probably the most relaxed but enjoyable New year I’ve had in years. Felt I had good quality time with my family. Overall the cottage was great & I could not recommend it enough. Normago366 days agoUrlaub wie bei Freunden. Immer wieder gerne. ☺Schönes, liebevoll eingerichtetes und gemütliches Häuschen. Wir fühlten uns sofort daheim. Es fehlte im Haus an nichts. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist ideal zum "Seele baumeln lassen" und zur Erkundung der Insel. Das Haus liegt zwar direkt an der "Ringstrasse", aber der Verkehr war kaum merkbar. Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in ca. 10 Minuten mit dem Auto reichlich vorhanden. Leider hatten wir bei der Anreise etwas Pech mit dem Wetter und den Fähren, aber unser freundlicher Gastgeber stand uns bei jedem Problem sehr schnell mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. The water pressure was great in the shower and the temperature was easy to control and remained constant throughout use. The kitchen was fully equipped and even had an air fryer. The addition of books, games and binoculars for guests to use during their stay was a nice touch. The location was stunning with fantastic views across the water and the only sound at night was the gentle lapping of the waves. We had a lovely evening meal in the Corrie Hotel, the food was good and the service excellent, the staff were lovely. ☹Would have preferred king size beds as the doubles did feel cramped and also would have liked a firmer mattress, however, that comes down to personal preference. Donald417 days agoPerfect in every way. Wonderful home to stay on Arran during our short trip there. Short distance from the ferry and the location of the house was perfect and stunning views from the front looking out over the water. We opened the curtains to a pod of dolphins literally swimming past the front door early one morning which made our trip! Beautifully appointed house and had such a lovely feel to it.
